Access is in the forefront in document conversion technology. In fact, we are the experts in conversion of all media -— for all major Electronic Image Management (EIM) systems. We can convert a full range of input media, including paper, roll film, and microfiche to digital images. We then write those images to optical disk or magnetic media, depending on the requirements of your EIM system.
Quite often, before EIM systems can be of real value, users must first be able to quickly access millions of existing (backfile) documents. In these cases, document conversion is required. This conversion is a thorough process which entails the following steps: the electronic scanning of correspondence, printouts, drawings and other records; storage of the archived images; and the indexing of data on magnetic tape or optical disk.
The skilled people at Access will work closely with you, to ensure that your new system is up and running quickly and efficiently. One obvious benefit of putting your conversion needs in our hands, is the fact that your staff and resources can remain focused on your regular business, while we are focused on conversion. Because Access performs your backfile conversion, you won't have to invest in extra and costly conversion equipment, which creates a win-win situation for you.

Moving from Microfilm to digital data has never been easier
The greatest appeal of Electronic Image Management (EIM) systems is their potential for instant retrieval and delivery of document images directly to the user's desktop. For organizations with large document archives, stored as microfilm, on roll film, or microfiche, realizing that potential hasn't been easy.
Tools for converting micro-image to digital data have either been difficult to use for on-demand, electronic conversion, or they've required the printing of documents onto paper, and then scanning that paper. Companies were forced to choose between converting their entire microfilm backfile to electronic form, or maintaining their existing microfilm archive and retrieval operation, in parallel with their EIM system. The result was that many of the benefits of the EIM system were lost and users were forced to deal with two different systems for retrieving documents. Not any more!

Our years of experience in engineering drawing reproduction have given us a true respect and appreciation of the need for absolute accuracy in the conversion of engineering drawing information to electronic images. We're very proud of our successes in the conversion of a variety of media to electronic images. These include: vellum, mylar, sepia intermediates, linen, front or reverse reading and two-sided media. We also specialize in conversion of roll microfilm, aperture cards and microfiche to electronic image files.
